<研究ノート>Experimenting with Student Centered Activities : Peer Generated Peer Evaluation

Abstract

Humanistic education implies student-centered activities. Traditional syllabuses and student-centered activities do not mix easily because traditional syllabuses are necessarily teacher-led. On the other hand, modern student-centered syllabuses cannot be very effective because they do not fit into traditional administrative frameworks very well. In oral English, student-centered activities have to be seen as the ideal because they promote natural communication which drives forward students' language acquisition. However, such activities will be successful only if teacher-student roles are taken into account. Through a series of student-centered activities resulting in a peer-generated peer evaluation, the authors attempted to make an existing activity more student-centered and to increase awareness of teacher-student roles.
