| 抄録: | Recently, the media environment has been changed in the diffusion of 'new media', such as cable systems and satellite broadcasting. Moreover, multichannel digital broadcasting is now drawing the attention of the media enterprises and industrial capital. In the tendency toward commercialization of television, the relationship between media and democracy has been questioned. With regard to this point, I shall discuss how Japanese broadcasting lives up to the democratic function of the media in the 'forthcoming new information era'. |
