| 抄録: | The purpose of this study is to validate the Phrasal Vocabulary Size Test (PVST) designed to measure receptive knowledge of second language (L2) learners’ formulaic language using Rasch Analysis. A total of 119 female university students in Japan participated in this study. The results indicated that most items in the PVST showed good fit to a Rasch model. The items covered the entire ability estimate range from the least able learner to the most able learners. In addition, the PVST showed both good item and person reliability estimates. Furthermore, the result of Rasch principal component analysis implied that the PVST measures a single construct. That is, even though the PVST consists of grammatically different types of formulaic sequences, they
are fundamentally unidimensional of the measured construct. |
